 About Art Giesbrecht
Art Giesbrecht grew up in Manitoba where he learned carpentry from an early age by working closely with his Father and Uncle. After he graduated High School in 1974, Art moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. He worked in the heating industry for several years and then decided to sign on with Windsor Plywood in Winnipeg where he advanced quickly. You might say that Art had building in his blood. I quess he came by it naturally.
After several years Art was transfered to a Windsor Plywood store in the Vancouver area where he again exceeded expectations. He was next transfered to Gibsons to manage the Windsor Plywood store there. Art has been living and working on the Sunshine Coast since 1983. He soon became well known on the Sunshine Coast for his friendly face and knowledge in areas such as building supplies and construction.
In 1985, Art decided to start his own building supply store known as "The Alternative" where many locals came to find specialty items such as exotic woods and hardware. After several years of supplying customers with exotic items and building supplies, Art decided to return closer to his roots and began to create rather than supply.
Art started his carpentry business based in Gibsons, BC and has been helping people with their finishing projects ever since. Art Giesbrecht is a well known community minded person and Business person for as long as he has lived here. He is very outgoing and interested in the community and the people who live here. He has been involved in many organizations through the years, helping out wherever he can. Art would like to help with your projects as well.
